Acts 21:17-26
Reflect
How far are you willing to go to keep the peace? Are you a “big picture” type of person or “my slice of the pie” person?
Today we read about Paul and his willingness to do things that would help maintain unity, by keeping the “big picture” in mind.
I have often found Paul to be someone who knew who he was, was comfortable in his own skin, and wasn’t afraid to offend people. But in this passage, we see evidence of Paul being considerate of others and doing things to avoid being a stumbling block to their faith.
For evangelistic purposes, Paul was willing to change his behaviour. The unity of the church was so important that giving up some personal freedom was well worth the unity it would preserve.

In today’s world where we are encouraged to stand our ground, what might it look like as followers of Jesus to keep the unity of the church in mind as we interact with people?
