Acts 25:13-27
Reflect
In my early years of school, I remember playing a game called Hot Potato. The point of the game was not to get stuck holding the hot potato (ball or bean bag) when the music stopped. If you did have the hot potato, you were out of the game.
Paul had become something of a hot potato for the administrators of this troubled little jurisdiction. No one wanted to be caught having to deal with Paul, so he kept getting passed on. While this may seem like a tough time for him, the waiting period allowed Paul to be able to share the gospel with several prominent leaders and it also most likely kept Paul from being killed, as the plan was to attack him when he was transported from Caesarea back to Jerusalem.
There are times in our journey when we might wonder why exactly we seem to be stuck, or caught in a situation that would appear from outward appearances that we have been forgotten. In particular, David documented this feeling in Psalm 13. Paul, like David, held on to the hope and promise that God would take care of him.
Apply
Today, hold on to the promise that we are not forgotten and we are never passed on from the hand of God.
