Isaiah 9:1-4 & Luke 1:39-55
Reflect
I continue to be struck by Mary’s ability to take the interruption in her life, the announcement that she would become pregnant and carry God’s Son, and not allow it to rob her of joy.
We often look for happiness, but happiness, even though it can come from so many different sources, is always fleeting. It is founded in earthly things and will run its course. Joy, on the other hand, is not a in the moment experience, but rather it is a long-lasting state of being.
Joy is something promised by God and is something we should work for. As Mary recognized the situation she was in was from God and as she wrapped her mind around this gift, she found joy in the opportunity that was given to her.
As you explore the wonder of joy in your own life, take some time to reflect where God has given you joy. Where has God increased your joy even during some hard situations?

Pray for Nick and Iris
Pray for us as we transition from a closed country to a new area of ministry. We prayed and encouraged the national believers to keep on the flames of evangelism, fearless courage, steadfast faith, and good witnesses among the neighborhood and community. Ministries there continue and enter into a new model. Right before November, we returned to Canada. Virtual counseling ministries go on after our departure from the field. Praise the Lord that Jesus’ salvation and comfort are always the essential and ultimate answer to every life predicament in counseling scenarios. God is awesome. We are seeking God’s direction for our ministries in the future. During the past months, God gave us a passion to serve His kingdom in Japan, with targeting the Chinese diaspora. Please join us in prayer for God’s clear direction and guidance in our discernment of His will.
