Matthew 2:13-23
Reflect
As I read today’s passage, I couldn’t help but wonder what it must have felt like for Joseph and Mary. They were told they would be parents to the Messiah, and these first few years had not been easy living. Add to all the moving and adjusting to having a baby, a death threat, and another command from God to get moving.
Today’s passage was a gentle reminder to me to stop thinking that life as a believer is going to be easy just because God is in it. There are going to be trials and challenges. We can look at Jesus’ early life as an example.
While I don’t know what Mary and Joseph were thinking during these early years of Jesus’ life, I do imagine knowing God was watching over them was an encouragement to keep going. In the same way, I pray you are encouraged to know God is watching over you during your day-to-day life.

We currently have four staff members, and a volunteer ministry team of approximately thirty people. Myrna Lynn and I serve as the directors of Desert Streams. Please pray that God would continue to give us much grace, guidance and growth for 2022/23 as we work with Him to “Help people come to Life!”
