Matthew 8:23-27
Reflect
Pastor Melissa shared a wonderful sermon on this passage a few weeks ago and you can watch it from our website (January 7, 2024).
As I read this passage again, what struck me this time is verse 27: “The men were amazed and asked, ‘What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!’”
Those in the boat got to watch firsthand Jesus calm the storm. They saw His power up close and personal, and even though they had spent time with Him they were still amazed by Jesus.
How about you? When was the last time you were amazed by Jesus’ power? As the writer of Hebrews penned it, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Heb 13:8)
May you experience Jesus in a way today that makes you be amazed!

Pray for Mission Aviation Fellowship
MAF brings help, hope and healing to the most isolated areas of the world. For 75 years, Mission Aviation Fellowship has been using light aircraft to provide remote communities around the world with relief and access to the help they need. Today, MAF operates the world’s largest private fleet of light aircraft, flying to more destinations than any other airline, serving in 30 countries, with the sole purpose of seeing isolated people transformed by the love of Christ. While aviation is the practical means by which we serve, we are not only aviators. We are engineers, teachers, IT specialists, administers and managers. MAF partners with more than 2000 organizations and thousands of individual doctors, missionaries, pastors and aid workers. Additionally, MAF has long had a close relationship with Prairie College and in 2018, MAF Canada assumed management of the aviation school which is now called Prairie Aviation Training School (PATC).
