Proverbs 3:19-35

Reflect

“The Lord by wisdom founded the earth.” We don’t have to look far to be in awe of the creation God made. The way our bodies work and the way the earth is designed point to a wise creator. And this same creator who made the world in wisdom, knows the best way for us to live and walk out our days on this earth. Solomon advises his son to give attention to God’s wisdom: “my son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion, they will be life for you” (vs 21-22).

God has given us His wisdom through the Bible. He shows us the best way to live, a way that leads to the full life that He intends for us (John 15). The words in this passage admonish us to give attention to God’s wisdom, and surrender our hearts to it. To recognize that God’s wisdom is far greater than ours. Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
