John 10:27: 27 My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me.
The crowds at the temple wanted certainty. “If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly,” they demanded. Jesus doesn’t give them a new argument. He gives them His voice. “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.”
At Christmas, we celebrate the Word made flesh, God’s voice speaking in the language of a baby’s cry. God does not shout from a distance; He draws near. The Father’s voice, revealed in Jesus, is not just information—it is invitation, assurance, security, love.
We live in a world where so many voices compete for our attention: voices of fear, success, failure, comparison. But the voice of the Father, spoken through the Son, says something very different: “You are mine. No one will snatch you out of my hand.”
Christmas is not only the story of God coming to dwell among us; it is the promise that He will hold us forever. Eternal life is not simply endless time; it is unbreakable belonging. In Jesus, the Father whispers a word stronger than death itself: You are safe. You are loved. You are home.
What voices tend to drown out the Father’s voice in your life?
How does hearing Jesus’ words, “No one will snatch them out of my hand,” bring comfort to you this Christmas?
What is one practical way you can pause this season to intentionally listen for the Father’s voice amid the noise?
