LENT Devotionals

As we enter the Lent season, we prepare our hearts in a time of prayer, fasting, and self-reflection, leading to inner conversion and renewal for celebrating Jesus’ resurrection.

Members of our church have written a daily devotional guide, Listening in the Wilderness - Lent as Relearning Attentiveness to God, with themes of identity, waiting on God, and learning to recognize the Shepherd’s voice.

If you would like to receive a daily devotional in your inbox, please sign up here.

Alberta Baptist Association (ABA)

Read more online in our Outreach magazine, p7.

The ABA exists to connect and resource churches to impact communities for the growth and advancement of the Kingdom of God in Alberta and around the world.  Our core ministry is constructed around relationships, focusing on effectively fulfilling the stated “Kingdom” mission with the vision to “develop Kingdom leaders.” This includes pastoral leaders, lay leaders, and emerging leaders.

Opportunities to connect with leaders include Pastors Connection events; ReNew events for lay leaders within the churches; semi/retired Ministers Gathering, including missionaries; annual Ministry Workers Family Retreat at Camp Caroline; the Welcome to Team Alberta event; monthly online Touching Base events; and a variety of annual retreats connecting individuals and churches around the Association, including the Men’s & Ladies Retreats, German Retreat, Jr. & Sr. High Retreats.  Other connection opportunities include placement coaching, as well as professional consultation and resourcing around ALBU, Aaron (Athletes in Action) many ministry needs and opportunities.

The ABA is pleased to serve in partnership with several partner ministries, including the NAB Conference, Taylor Seminary, Camp Caroline, the Mustard Seed, Prairie Bible College, and Resiliency Ministries, Canada. Most recently, White Cross Canada and Farm To Field have become integral ministries of the ABA.

In the months ahead, members of the ABA Leadership Council and staff request prayer for our Lord’s continued wisdom and direction regarding the potential of establishing a “Gap Year” for young adults in the ABA as well as for the ongoing encouragement of pastors and churches in ABA. Together with you, in His service!
