Preparation for Sunday, July 31

Mark 10:46-52

This morning Pastor Nathanael will be continuing the series on “Short Prayers of the Bible” with a look at the prayer “Have mercy on me!”.  In a world that is decaying and broken, God’s mercy is a ray of hope for humanity. God’s mercy is not limited. God’s mercy does not dry up. God’s mercy does not grow weak. In the words of Paul Tripp, “God’s mercy is a radical theology, but it is more than a theology; it is life to all who believe.” Without question, the story of Bartimaeus is a story about the transforming power of God’s mercy.

Apply

  • Bartimaeus was desperate for God.  In what ways are you responding in daily desperation for God to work His transforming power of mercy in your heart and some of the areas that need attention?
  • How does God’s loving mercy for Bartimaeus encourage you in your personal walk with God?

Pray

  • Ask God to work in your heart and in the hearts of all who will be attending our services online or in person today.
  • Pray that God would effectively be at work in our church and in all His churches throughout our city today.
  • Pray for our Children’s Ministry Pastor, Jerilyn Bayer.
  • Pray for the Children’s Ministry Assistant Annette Faszer.
