Preparation for Sunday, August 14

Mark 10:46-52;13-16

This morning Pastor Lyle returns from sabbatical and will continue the series exploring some of the short prayers in the Bible. Two weeks ago, Pastor Nathanael spoke on the story of Jesus healing Bartimaeus and focused on the prayer, “Have mercy on me, Son of David!” Today, Pastor Lyle will move to his short prayer, “I want to see.” (v51)  In context, Mark has previously given a number of stories on how His disciples (then and now) fail to see clearly what is true. We’ll look at one of these stories today in which Jesus blesses little children and in so doing, helps us see both the true value of people and the true posture we need to have to enjoy His presence and blessing in our lives.
