Preparation for Sunday, November 20

Revelation 3:7-13

Today Pastor Lyle will continue a series of sermons on the letters recorded in Revelation 2 and 3 that were written by Jesus to seven different first-century churches. This morning we’ll explore the sixth letter, which was addressed to the church in the ancient city of Philadelphia. This is one of two letters that contain no words of warning or correction. The church had little strength of its own. It was up against significant challenges, yet stayed faithful to Jesus. This letter is one of great promise and encouragement where Jesus pulls back the curtain of their current circumstances to show He is at work (v8) and gives glimpses of bright hope for their ultimate future.
