Devotional Guide for Wednesday, November 30

Isaiah 53:1-12

Reflect

In this prophecy from Isaiah, we get a small glimpse into the great cost that Jesus faced as He went to the cross for us; a great sacrifice motivated by an unfathomable love. It’s hard to wrap our heads around just how big a sacrifice it was for Jesus to leave His throne to come down to earth to live among us, so that He could one day take our place, to pay the cost of our sins, and to defeat death and make a way for us to be made whole and free again. It was this punishment that brought us peace. He paid the price, but the benefits are made available to us. And all of this was motivated by love.

Apply

Take some time today to reflect on the deep love that Jesus has for humanity as a whole, but also for you specifically. This price was paid for YOU. What would it look like for you to respond to that love today? How would that change how you lived out this day, and interacted with the people around you?

Thank you, Jesus, for your great love for us.
