Luke 2:41-52

Reflect
A few things stood out to me from this passage as I read it again this time.  The first is the beginning of verse 41 – “Every year” and then in verse 44 – “Thinking he was in their company…” 

How many of us are like these two verses? Every year we get ready for Christmas. We dust off the nativity story and remember what Christmas is all about, only to leave Jesus behind us as we move into the new year, not realizing that we are not with Him anymore. 

We think our faith is with us somewhere, but we aren’t really sure where it is in our daily lives, only to stop and realize that we haven’t been active in our faith for some time. 

As we leave this Christmas season and head into a new year, why not commit to following Jesus each and every day.
