Devotional Guide for Saturday, January 21

John 6:25-59

Reflect

It’s easy to see how we have become a seemingly self-sufficient society. We work to earn a living, and with that we buy the things we need and live the life that we want. It’s all pretty straightforward. Even when things aren’t going the way we hoped they would, our first instinct is usually to just buckle down and try harder until it works.

But as we can also see, nothing of this world lasts. We search and strive and work to build something that lasts: a reputation, a legacy, whatever. But in the end, nothing we can do will ever last.

There is only one thing that will last and endure forever, and it is Jesus Christ, the bread of life. When we come to Jesus and believe in Him, we will live forever! We can stop striving and straining, and rest in the grace of Jesus.

What are some ways that you can rely on Jesus for His strength for today?
