Hebrews 12:14-29
Reflect
If you’ve been along for this profound ride through Hebrews, by now you know that a primary theme of this book is that Jesus is our High Priest. By the act of His perfect sacrificial blood, we benefit from God’s amazing grace.
The imagery throughout today’s passage is riveting. When the Israelites approached Mt Sinai, the glory and power of God caused Moses, and no doubt all present, to tremble with fear. God was doing a great work and there were tremendous consequences for rebellion.
Today, as those that benefit from the great work of Jesus on Mt Zion, we are foolish if we fail to recognize the privilege it is to benefit from God’s mercy and grace.
God’s perfect character has no defects. He had no need to change. The God of the OT is the God of the NT. God’s mercy in the OT is more evident than typically acknowledged, and His judgement in these NT days is more intense than we can imagine.

When God shakes everything, how confident are you in the kingdom you are standing in?
How will today be a day that you gracefully strive for peace with everyone (v14)? Who will you start with?
