Genesis 18:1-15
Reflect
Abraham was providing a meal for his visitors when the visitors unexpectedly asked about Sarah. As Sarah resided in the tent, maybe as part of her custom or possibly for health reasons, she laughed in disbelief as she overheard the conversation. It seemed impossible for a woman of her age to have a son!
It was just hard to believe. I can imagine times of disappointment, doubt, and possibly a plethora of different emotions. No wonder Sarah laughed! Underlying her unbelief must’ve been a sea of sadness and hopelessness.
Donald Grey Barnhouse writes, “God made water flow from a rock in the wilderness, yet the people doubted that He could furnish bread. Although He rained manna from heaven, they questioned whether He could furnish flesh.”
But the question remains for us as it was for Abraham and Sarah: “Is anything too hard for the LORD?” This doesn't mean that everything we ask for is guaranteed, especially if it’s not good, pleasing, and according to His will, but this should renew our faith to know that whatever we ask, He is able to carry it through according to His nature.

Maybe you’ve been discouraged lately because it doesn’t seem like God is listening, or perhaps you’ve been praying for your friends, but they haven’t received Christ. What area(s) of your life needs a renewed faith?
