Genesis 21:22-34
Reflect
Throughout the pages of Scripture, we see God active and at work. We read stories about God moving in big and wonderful ways – like the parting of the Red Sea.
In the story today we see Him working in the ordinary moments of life too. We know that Abraham was human just like us. God did great things through him and chose him to start a nation, but he also struggled with real things like fear. Enough fear to try to pass off his wife as his sister! God was faithful to Abraham in the big things, and he was faithful to Abraham in the more ordinary things too. God cared a whole lot about Abraham and in the story today we see Him caring about his needs: his need for security and protection, and his need for water.
We serve the same God who cares about us and is faithful in both the big things and the ordinary events of our lives.
