Preparation for Sunday, May 28

Romans 12:13b, 1 Peter 4:9, Hebrews 13:2

In our Sunday services, we are currently exploring a number of “practices” that give shape to what it means to be in right relationship with God, with one another and with our neighbours. Last Sunday Pastor Nathanael touched on our calling as neighbours by looking at Jeremiah 29, and how we are agents of the Kingdom in our communities. Today he’ll continue the conversation of what it means to be neighbours through biblical hospitality.

In order to make Christ known to those around us, we are called to live a life of invitation rather than a life of separation. From opening up our homes, to inviting others into our everyday lives, biblical hospitality calls us to think outside ourselves.

Apply

  • In what ways does that shape how you love others by opening up your homes?
  • Pray for one or two people, couples, or families who you’d like to know better and are not in a relationship with Jesus, and invite them over.
  • Ask God to work in your heart and in the hearts of all who will be attending our services on-line or in person today.

  • Pray that those who are new to the church will be welcomed and find meaningful relationships.
  • Pray for our Children’s Ministry Pastor, Jerilyn Bayer
