Genesis 37:1-11
Reflect
Wishful fantasy or divine prophecy? The rest of the family was not fond of this spoiled brother. It didn't seem like Joseph was sharing his dreams from a place of concern. These verses don’t reveal his motives behind sharing his dreams, and it doesn’t seem like his sharing was done with grace and wisdom. Perhaps the dreams were meant only for Joseph to know!
There may be times where God speaks to us through His Word or through visions and dreams where we are met with opposition. Although Joseph could have communicated it differently, he was faced with ridicule and opposition by his family. But regardless of how He speaks to you, if it’s truly from the living God, His prophetic Word will always be fulfilled by His sovereign plan. It’s in God’s own timing and ways that He carries out His promises (as we’ll see later in Joseph’s life). As we saw in Joseph’s life, we also see it in the life of Jesus Christ.
If God has fulfilled His greatest vision and promise in Jesus Christ, how much more will He carry out all other promises in His Word despite some of the oppositions that you might face? Truly, there is no wishful fantasy in the Christian life.

Sit and reflect on what promises are needed for today to help stead the path that you walk on.
