Genesis 41:1-40
Reflect
“When two full years had passed…” (v1). Did you catch that? Joseph waited a full two years before the chief cupbearer followed through with what was requested of him.
How good are you at waiting? Do you like to wait around, or do you like to have answers quickly and projects moving ahead of schedule? Joseph waited.
A part of Joseph’s story that I am so drawn to, is how Joseph remained faithful to God even when the circumstances around him seemed so unfair. He wasn’t just faithful when life was good, but he demonstrated his faithfulness in the dark and hard times.
We know the end of the story and that Joseph is elevated to an important position, but in our lives, we don’t know how our stories will end, so it is important that we keep in mind the faithfulness we live by matters in the moment. God finds value in the effort we exhibit along our life’s journey and we need to remember that God is doing His work through us even when we don’t see how.

Missionary of the Week – Chain of Love Brazil
Chain of Love Homes is a ministry founded by a missionary couple 1993 to look after children in jeopardy and to provide them a better life centred on Christ’s love. We have built eight houses on a campus in Southern Brazil. We also manage four off-campus homes. Each home has up to ten children who are cared for by a committed married Christian couple. COL is now under Brazilian leadership. In every house we aim to create an environment as close as possible to the routine of a Christian family. We aim to pass on Christian values to our children. Every child who comes to us is sent by judges. They stay with us until their parents regain the ability to safely have them back. Sometimes this doesn’t happen, and the children stay with us until they turn 18.
