Exodus 4:1-17
Reflect
How many times have we doubted God when He led us to do something? God had chosen Moses to be His spokesperson to the Egyptians and Israel, but from looking at our passage today, he questioned, protested, and doubted God.
Moses’ concerns seemed legitimate at face value, but God saw his unbelief clearly. So, God revealed three signs not only the benefit of the people but also for Moses himself. Moses further complained regarding his eloquence, but the Lord assured him that He would speak through his mouth (v12). After his final excuse, the truth came out of Moses’ mouth, and he refused to follow God’s leading, which ultimately angered the Lord despite after providing many affirmations.
We often forget that God will supply what we lack in any situation or task that He calls us to. Whether it’s forgiveness to mend a relationship, love and courage when sharing our faith with friends, or freedom from certain addictions, God will prepare and provide the necessary resources.
