Exodus 4:18-30
Reflect
God had called Moses to be a spiritual leader for the people of Israel, and was calling him to go back to Egypt to rescue His people from the harsh oppression they were facing. The Lord had shown Moses through different signs that He was with Moses, and Moses made plans to return with his family to Egypt. Somewhere along the way, he has this interaction with God where God is about to kill him over this issue of his son and circumcision. At some point when his son was born, for whatever reason, Moses had failed to follow the covenant that God had made with the Israelites that every male would be circumcised. And now the problem was that Moses was supposed to go rescue his people from the Egyptians but he himself hadn’t been faithful to the covenant that God had made with his people. He had to get his personal life in order before he could properly be in leadership over the Israelites.

Take some time today to take stock of your personal walk with Jesus. Are there areas that need attention before you can walk into the leadership and responsibility that God is inviting you to be a part of?
