Exodus 6:28-7:13

Reflect

At the conclusion of Hebrews, the benediction includes a prayer that God would equip the people with everything good for doing His will, and we see an example of God’s equipping work here in Exodus. God called Moses to confront Pharoah and to free the Israelites, and Moses had some hesitations about how he'd be able to speak. So, God brings Moses’s brother Aaron into the story to be the spokesperson.

When God calls us to be a part of His work in the world, we may feel unequipped to be able to step into our calling. It can be easy to wish that God would just call someone else to that job. But we can rest assured that if He’s calling us to it, He’ll make a way through it. Sometimes that looks like equipping us with certain passions or interests or abilities, and sometimes, like in Moses’s case, He provides people to come alongside us.

Apply

If the thing that God has called you to feels daunting, take some time today to look at the people around you. Maybe God is inviting some of them to be a part of the story as well.
