Psalm 132
Reflect
The Psalm today is full of good stuff, but we will camp on one thought. Verses 13-14 says, “For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling. This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.”
These verses tell us of God’s promise to dwell with His people. In the Old Testament we see the tabernacle representing God’s presence with the Israelites. In the New Testament we see God dwell among people when He sent His Son to earth. Today we know that God dwells with us through His Holy Spirit.
In the ups and downs of life we can know that we are not alone. God has promised to be with us, to dwell among us. When we suffer and feel pain, He is close by. When we struggle with sin and darkness, He is near to us. When we feel joy, He celebrates with us.
