Psalm 133
Reflect
Our Moby Mexico team shared with us two Sundays ago about how unity became an important theme for them through the course of their time in Mexico. This psalm was one of the key descriptions of the goodness that comes when people live/serve together in unity.
In Psalm 133 King David references two liquids, experienced not in scarcity but in abundance. First there is oil, used for anointing the head that not only covers the top of Aaron’s head, but flows down to his beard and onto his robes. This reference takes us back to the book of Leviticus where Moses anoints Aaron, consecrating him for the Lord’s work. Second there is dew; in the dryness of the land, dew is a welcome source of moisture that sustains life. In this short psalm David acknowledges that unity is both a sacred and precious commodity as well as life giving.

Unity is something that we can either add to or detract from in our relationships. How are you experiencing and providing those elements that are contributing to unity in your relationships?
