Isaiah 40:25-31, Romans 15:1-13
Reflect
There can be times when we wonder if God sees where we are at, and what we are going through. These times of wonderment can coincide with seasons of difficulty or discouragement, when we might feel like we are weak and weary.
Isaiah challenges us to compare the Lord to anyone or anything else; there is nothing that comes even remotely close to the Lord in any comparison category. With that understanding of the greatness of our God we are reminded in Romans 15:8 that Christ came to earth and took on our weakness, He came to serve the purposes of the Father. Jesus entered this world as a human baby and lived as a man who knows our weaknesses, He knows where we might come to a place of despair, wondering if there is any hope.
In the time of Isaiah, they waited for the coming Hope of a Messiah. Today we wait for Jesus to return. In both instances this hope is not a mere wish, but a confident assurance rooted in God’s promises of a living hope that strengthens us for what we will face today and bolsters our spirits with the understanding that one day we will see God face to face. He will fulfil His promises.
