Matthew 12:46-50
Reflect
All of us are born into families, either for better or for worse, but one of the beautiful parts of our faith is that we accept Jesus and commit our lives to Him. We get adopted into a new family. So, regardless of what our born-into family looks like, we have the opportunity to experience the belonging and love of a family through Christ.
With this comes both promise and responsibility. We have the promise of being accepted into this family of Christ, but we also have the responsibility to be the family of Christ to the people around us too. Those people that you sit next to at church on a Sunday morning, or in a small group, or as you pass on the street. These are your brothers and sisters. What would it look like if we remembered that, and were intentional about it more regularly? Who is God putting on your heart to be “family” for? How are we intentional about inviting and welcoming others to be a part of this family of Christ?
