Preparation for Sunday, March 3

John 6:51-69

On this Communion Sunday, we will be considering Jesus’ words from John 6:51-69 where He states, “My flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.” This challenged even His disciples and the reality was that many of those who initially followed Jesus left Him. “Does this offend you?” is the question in our series that Pastor Melissa will be unpacking this morning.

The apostle Paul taught on the believer’s participation in Communion in 1 Corinthians 10:16 and 11:23-32. Take a moment to read these verses and reflect:

  • As I participate in Communion, do I take time to examine myself as to whether my daily walk is in alignment with God?
  • Do I consider how my actions, public or private, impact my brothers and sisters in the body of Christ?
  • Do I partake in Communion with a measure of respect and awe for what it means?

Pray

  • Pray that those who attend our service today will have a meaningful encounter with God.
  • Pray for our Children’s Ministry Pastor, Jerilyn Bayer and the Children’s Ministry Associate, Annette Faszer.
  • Pray for the Children’s Ministry Assistants Abigail, Adelynn, Amelia, Blythe, Clarissa, Domina, Sylvie and Tia.
