Philemon 1:1-7

Reflect

Have you ever experienced the power of the written word? A note or a letter written by hand and sent to you? When I was attending NABC, we had student mailboxes where people could leave notes or encouragement cards for one another, and I remember always hoping there would be something in my box.

Paul sends Philemon a letter and tells him he prays for him regularly and that Philemon is an encouragement to Paul for how he is living out his faith.

I remember how powerful it was to get a note and to be able to read and re-read it when the day or week was hard and how the note would help me continue to press on.

Who do you regularly pray for? Who has been an encouragement to your faith by how they live? Why not send a handwritten note letting them know you pray for them, and you are thankful for how they live out their faith and how it is an encouragement to you.

Pray for Isaac Lee – Athletes In Action

Isaac Lee has worked with Athletes in Action since 2010, when we felt the call to serve student athletes with the Gospel. Since that time he has helped a number of athletes understand the importance of living for Jesus in the world of sports. Isaac has a passion for developing disciples of Jesus, who will go into the athletic world and reach others with the Gospel.
Recently Isaac has accepted a position at the Faith and Sports Institute at Baylor University Truett Seminary, where he will be teaching, educating and equipping people for sports ministry. He desires to see more and more athletes reached with the Gospel, but knows there is a huge need for more people to understand the importance of a relationship with Jesus and the pursuit of sports. And how each of us can participate in the work of sports ministry.
