Luke 12:13-21
This morning Pastor Lyle continues a series of sermons around the theme “Dwelling in Christ,” in which we are exploring a number of the questions Jesus asked His followers. The question we’ll consider today is “Who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?” Jesus asked this question in response to a rather rude demand by someone in the crowd that He get involved in a family dispute and set his brother straight. In essence, the person making the demand assumed he was totally right and was urging Jesus to get on his side in this polarized situation. In our highly polarized culture, Jesus’ question provides challenging direction for us as we hold our own opinions and convictions around various issues.
