Philippians 1:1-8
This morning Pastor Lyle will begin a summer series of messages from the book of Philippians. In this introductory passage, we find Paul writing with a note of joy. In fact, the theme of joy runs through his letter, with some form of the word being used sixteen times. Given this, it would be easy to think that Paul was writing from a joyous place marked by easy circumstances. The truth, however, is far different. Paul was writing from a place of imprisonment. Today we’ll look at some of the sources of Paul’s deeper joy.
