Devotional Guide for Monday, July 15

Philippians 3:7-11

What is my “profit?”

Apostle Paul always brings up the question of personally knowing Jesus Christ in his letters.

Knowing Jesus Christ is the biggest “profit” in our lives.

The world dictates that we need to have a lot of “profits” in our life that we can put “confidence in the flesh.” These “profits” can be different things such as: nationality, education, skills, job, bank account, health body, and many more. All this just to show who is better than the next person.

Apostle Paul had a lot of such “profits” in his life, but it is nothing compared with what he found in Christ.

So, the first “profit” is to be found in Christ with the righteousness that comes from God based on faith in Christ.

The second “profit” is to know Christ, to know the power of resurrection, to know how Christ went through His sufferings, and to know how Christ can help us go through our sufferings.

And the third “profit” is to attain the resurrection from the dead. We all are thinking and worry about where we will be after death. Apostle Paul considered that Christ will attain us to the resurrection from the dead.
