Devotional Guide for Thursday, August 11

2 Chronicles 24:17-27

Reflect

This past ministry year we have had the theme of “Moving Forward…” Today we read how King Hezekiah helped the people move forward in their walk of obedience to the Lord.

Hezekiah did a deep cleaning job on the temple. We read that it took 16 days for the cleaning to be completed. To me that doesn’t say they made sure there were no cobwebs hanging about. They took time and paid a lot of attention to all areas of the temple.

1 Corinthians 6:19 reminds us that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Hezekiah cleaned the temple to make sure there was nothing in it that would defile it and thus remove the anger of God against the people.

As you think about the theme of Moving Forward in your own walk with God, have you taken time (not perhaps 16 days, but some significant time) to inspect your life to see if there was anything in it that would impact the Holy Spirit from really making a home in your life?

This last year in Frankfurt has been amazing as I settle more into my ministry roles with Mosaik! Expanding our Hospitality Team has been one of my biggest focuses, which is now made up of our Sunday Host, Coffee Team, Potluck Team and any food related ministries during the week. This has been a true joy, allowing me to dig deeper into my passions with food, hospitality and loving on people! My team and I are able to practice practical discipleship. God has also opened the doors to build more relationships with people in the church. I am still helping within youth and young adult ministries, administration, building facilities management, cleaning and practical support to the pastors and our main pastor’s family. This year we are looking at a move out of our current building and focusing more on discipleship. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for us!
