John 1:1-14
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
2 Corinthians 9:15
Merry Christmas!!
On this Christmas Sunday, we celebrate God’s indescribable gift to us. While our human minds cannot begin to fully grasp the magnitude of this gift, John provides a profound description that does provide a good starting point. We see Jesus described here as the Eternal Word who has existed throughout eternity, One with God and indeed God Himself. Yet, to a world that has brought darkness on itself, Jesus stepped out of heaven, took on human flesh (v14), and came to earth so that we could be restored to God (vs12-13). How appropriate that we take time today to reflect on this gift and its many implications. In our service this morning, different members of the church staff will reflect on an aspect of God’s gift that has significant meaning for them.
