Devotional Guide for Thursday, January 5

John 1:35-51

Reflect

This passage challenges us to not just know about Jesus--to know the stories, to be familiar with who Jesus is reported to be, but to do something more than just have head knowledge.

Jesus tells the two disciples of John the Baptist to “come and see” where He was staying. The invitation was to be immersed in the life of Jesus.

We’ve just come out of the Christmas season where we have heard lots about Jesus and the amazing gift He is to us. But I believe Jesus is saying to each one of us, "COME AND SEE."

Jesus extends the invitation to truly know Him. Don’t be content to have the warm fuzzy feeling from the Christmas decorations, carols, and having heard the stories once again of Jesus’ birth. Why not accept Jesus’ invitation to really know him this year.
