John 6:1-15
Reflect
If you were Philip in this story, what would your response have been to Jesus’ question in verse 5?
As someone who tries to anticipate needs before they even occur, I can identify with Philip and his answer. “Well Jesus, maybe you don’t know this, but feeding this big of a crowd will not be easy, in fact it would cost a lot of money and planning, so it would have been good to know this before now.”
Philip was still learning who Jesus was. He didn’t fully grasp all that Jesus represented and all that Jesus could do, and his answer reflected his limited knowledge and understanding of who Jesus was.
As you walk through your day and different challenges and opportunities present themselves to you, how are you responding? Are you leaning into Jesus who is more than capable of handling them, or are you trying to figure out how to do it in your own understanding and strength?

Pray for The Canadian Bible Society
The Canadian Bible Society’s mission is to help the world hear God speak through His Word. Where people are at risk, when faith is under siege, to millions craving hope and a generation seeking purpose, God speaks. We help them hear.
Thanks to our generous supporters, CBS can:
Champion Scripture as the voice of God that reveals the living Word of God
Lead in translation, publication and distribution of Bibles and Bible portions
Innovate in new formats and delivery channels to engage a wide range of people
Partner in opportunities for Scripture to be transformational in people’s lives
Please pray for every person reached by Bible publication, distribution, and engagement projects in Canada and abroad. Please pray for the safety and strength of the staff of Bible Societies around the world as they work to make God’s Word available to those in need of comfort and hope.
