Devotional Guide for Thursday, March 9

Hebrews 4:14-5:10

Reflect

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence,…” (v16a)

What a beautiful invitation. Under the old covenant (before Jesus’ death and resurrection became the new covenant), the only person allowed into God’s presence was the high priest, who entered the Most Holy Place ONCE a year on the Day of Atonement.

I am so glad we are invited to approach the throne of grace as often as we want and when we do approach, we approach our great High Priest, Jesus, who is able to sympathize with our weaknesses, and was tempted as we are, but remained without sin.

Apply

Have you approached the throne of grace today? When you approach, are you approaching with confidence? As you approach the throne of grace today, remember this invitation is from God who desires to have an ongoing relationship with us.

Pray for Barbara Labrecque - Wycliffe

Barbara serves with Wycliffe at the Canada Institute of Linguistics (CanIL), Wycliffe Canada’s training school in BC. It is a blessing to be part of the team at CanIL which seeks to equip the next generation to give marginalized people around the world access to God’s Word and education.
At CanIL, Barbara works in finances, administration, and donor relations, officially. Unofficially, she does whatever needs to be done and makes the most of opportunities to talk to students about language development and cross-cultural living. Please pray for CanIL’s leadership team and faculty. Please pray for the CanIL students who are seeking to serve in Bible translation and literacy.
