Genesis 30:25-43
Reflect
I smile at the interesting technic that Jacob uses to increase his wages. He was one busy man, working really hard. Whoever may be in the business of selective breeding may not use the same system, so how come Jacob got his wages? My thoughts go to my own life. Last Saturday I talked to a young man who grew up in a Christian home. He had many questions, many doubts. I quietly prayed and committed my words to God, asking for guidance through the Holy Spirit. Afterward as I reflect, I feel like I did the same as Jacob, looking silly in many of my responses.
Stop! It hits me. It is not about our smart actions or words! “Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it;” (Psalm 127:1)
In fact, see what Paul has to say in 1 Cor.15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I laboured even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.”
