Hebrews 6:13-2
Reflect
Have you ever been in a situation where you were depending on a person, but they fell short of meeting your expectations? You were hopeful that they’d deliver, but the result did not match up to what you thought would happen?
The author of Hebrews uses Abraham to build certainty in God’s people. Referring back to Genesis 22, God made a personal oath to Abraham that could not be appealed due to His perfect nature! When people make oaths, they usually swear by something greater, but there is no one greater than God. He is in his own category; He is only able to swear to Himself and His own name.
Hebrews also reminds us that Christ has become our High Priest as our forerunner and assurance to our salvation and admission into the perfect and wonderful presence of God. He continues to work out our salvation through His intercession for us.
All of this is to say that when God makes promises, they are unbreakable. We can find our hope through the assurance of God’s word and promises, and by the work of Jesus Christ.

Perhaps you are in a season of waiting, challenge, or difficulty and you’re hoping for better. Lean in, pray through Psalm 130, and cry out to Him with deep assurance that He will answer in His perfect and beautiful way.
