Devotional Guide for Wednesday, December 13

Isaiah 26:1-9, 1 Peter 3:8-12

Reflect

The furious beast that feeds off the tears, flesh and blood of innocent people will not be satisfied until every person experiences pain and suffering. Catastrophe and destruction will increase to a level never seen through climate change, wars, and economic failures.

I was asked recently what I believe revival would look like. Revival would be when God would shock us all and an immense movement of prayer would encourage those that love Jesus to fulfil their calling to be peacemakers into this world.

This Advent, we celebrate that Jesus fulfilled His calling when He came to us as a babe in the manger that left us with the most life changing lessons on life ever delivered before He went to the cross and left us with the Holy Spirit. Jesus fulfils His calling as the Prince of Peace, the Hope of the Nations. Might we fulfil our calling as instruments of peace, as peacemakers as we “seek peace and pursue it”?

Will we pray that God revives millions of tepid Christians?
Will we pray that God will bring millions that currently reject Him into a loving relationship?
Will we pray that millions, no billions, will see that Jesus is the way of peace?
Will we pray that we ourselves will not be satisfied until these prayers are fulfilled?
The world will either change or be destroyed.
Will we pray and fulfil our role as peacemakers?
